Denial.

Denial IS NOT a River in Egypt.

Denial IS NOT a River in Egypt.

Yes,
it’s true –
what’s good
to me,
may not be
good to you;
But,
my respect –
for this fact
renders
my opinion
no less intact:
That,
it’s no more –
than garbage
that you
repeatedly
produce;
No,
I do not –
will not follow
on your
commanding
wave of hand;
See,
it’s not even –
a discussion
that is
one of
necessity;
Go,
get on now –
continue down
that long
misleading
path;
March,
to a beat –
that burned
with kerosene
and shitty
petrol gas.

    I especially liked the ending. Once again such powerful imagery! My mother is one of those in denial. It seems like people think issues will go away if they pretend they don’t exist when the problem just festers like a nasty old wound.
