A Construct.

See how it came to be,

the way you caught me,

began the line reeling,

by falsified feelings,

you reflected so perfectly,

you projected so generously,

such insight and meaning,

appearing and seeming,

to perfect what makes me weak,

a construct for me to believe,

but no matter why or how,

I’ve ignored it before now,

its killing me with clarity,

with a cruelty,

a new certainty,

with no room to wiggle,

against a notion as fickle,

as that of reciprocity,

deck-planks are weak,

give out under feet,

waves a hand meekly,

so sad to see me go,

but it’s a gnarly undertow,

so I’m swept out to sea.
