Smile Anyway.

I’m no longer part of His sick display,

that’s foreign to my Life these days,

there’s no layer of fog blanketing my brain,

no disfiguring wounds in my new reflection;

these days, you won’t ever see me,

watching my back hyper-vigilantly,

worrying about so many trivial things,

that I can perceive might cost me teeth,

these days, I move freely and alone,

as opposed to the prisoner I had become,

my emotions are jaded, my senses are numb,

but I still smile even though a few teeth are gone.
